In the midst of Covid-19 pandemic, significant disruption of preventive health care services to vulnerable children and families was observed. Well child outreach therefore has been prioritized the following for vulnerable children in the service villages of Shanti Ashram & ICPH for this year
Prioritizing childhood vaccination : In addition to collaborating with the Government in improving ‘Routine Immunization’, we have also supported since January 2022, COVID 19 Vaccination for adolescent boys and girls in government schools and at ICPH’s Children’s Health Center
As a next step& with the generous support from our donor R.R Trust, Dindigul we are adding the HPV vaccine as part of our adolescent health outreach. As a pilot initiative, we are pleased to extend this critical (but currently optional) vaccination against cervical cancer to a cohort of most vulnerable adolescent girls in the age group of 9 to 15 years.
ICPH is already implementing the project Cervical Cancer Free Coimbatore, since 2022.
