Coimbatore Peace Festival, held annually, is a Coimbatore-wide effort to engage children and young people in local peace building initiatives. Over a thousand young people from various institutions that are a part of Shanti Ashram’s partnership platform have come together to:
‘STAND UP FOR PEACE’
From Hiroshima to Coimbatore: In its 33rd edition now, we connect with the founding commitment of the peace festival each year. The suffering and lived experience of the people of Hiroshima, the city on which the first Atom bomb wad dropped in 1945 is remembered. It is a testimony that violence impacts generations. Young people & children re-dedicate themselves to local peace building & community service outreach each year at the festival.
