Strategy: A synergistic model will be adopted to develop and strengthen the centre’s core areas of work
Public health practice and research: The underlying mission of public health is to improve the conditions and behaviors that affect health so that all people can attain it. That mission includes not only the practice of public health policy, but the research of public health issues and the education of future leaders who eventually will translate that research into practices and policies to improve the health of people regionally, nationally, and globally.
While the parameters differ from country to country, and from one community to the next, the importance of quality health care cannot be emphasized enough. As an established innovator in child health, we have experience in not only mapping causal factors but also in forecasting whether a solution is likely to work within a particular context. Our cumulative learning also about how these factors, from social to cultural norms to features of the environment and infrastructure, to people’s educational levels and skills all have to be aligned in an effort to building more healthy communities.
Capacity Building and empowerment of care providers and vulnerable communities to ensure utilization of health services. While physicians work in clinical care, research, health care administration, or other areas of medicine, accredited continued medical education (CME) is tailored to their needs and their patients’ needs. Focus will also be on demand generation of services by increasing community awareness and actively engaging community members in service delivery.
Research and Public policy: To share new learning’s across service delivery and health products, optimizing costs, and increasing efficiencies, a keen eye on the data received from the field is crucial. Focus will be on field-based research, sharing learning’s with the wider academic and professional community, and presenting evidence-based practices for improvements in public policy.
Global partnerships: The scope of work being planned through the centre are already being discussed and strengthened with representatives from the Government of India, UN agencies, World Health Organization, Medical schools, Faith-based organizations, academic institutions and Development partners.
