We will observe it with an Anjali, bhajans and interfaith prayers
• The International Center for Child and Public Health’s Care of the Elderly Programme will organize a vision
screening clinic in partnership with Aravind Eye Hospital. Together we have served over 10,000 vulnerable
children so far.A special Geriatric Clinic dedicated to our ‘Paati’s’ from the service villages of Shanti Ashram.
• The Youth Leadership Programme will bring together our families living with HIV for a special session on the
importance & impact of counselling.
• The Bala Shanti Programme will host a dedicated support group meeting for mothers who head their families and
supported by the programme.
• MGIPLD will create opportunities during the month to hear two experts on themes close to Amma’s heart -‘building
of character’ in children by Ms Pavithra Rajagopalan and ‘strengthening community cohesion and peace through
inclusive development interventions’ by the MGIPLD Team.
We will pause to remember her pioneering work at Shanti Ashram and beyond for women and children across India. The extended Shanti Ashram family will also enjoy a community lunch and celebrate in advance the Deepawali spirit together. Amma loved celebrations and enjoyed hosting community lunches, so this is a special tribute from us to Amma.
